For many people, the Xbox Controller has always been the best. Even PC players love to use it for certain games, and the easy integration with Windows over the years has only helped that along. Thankfully, if you bought an Xbox Series X or S console, you will still be able to take advantage of the controller, even when playing your games on PC.

The best and easier way to connect the controller is through a USB 3.0 Connection. You can purchase a USB-C cable that can connect to the top of the controller and slot it into the PC through a spare USB port. Because both Windows and Xbox are owned by Microsoft, the integration is flawless, so that as complicated as it gets for a wired connection.

If you wish to use a wireless connection, then things will be a little more complicated, and you may need to purchase an Xbox Wireless Adapter from the Microsoft Store. If you want to go about doing this method, you will need to do the following:

  1. Turn on the PC and Sign in to your Windows 10 Account
  2. Plug in your Xbox Wireless Adapter
  3. Turn off the Controller using the Xbox Button and Clock on the Pairing button next to the Left Shoulder Button until the Xbox button flashes.
  4. Press the Pair button on the Xbox Wireless Adapter. A small light should flash for several seconds.
  5. Once both flashing lights turn solid, it means the controller has connected to the adapter.

Alternatively, if your PC has in-built Xbox Wireless, you can head to Settings > Devices and “Add a Bluetooth or other device” and select everything else. Then choose the Xbox Series X S Controller after clicking the button next to the L Bumper on the controller.

You can also use Bluetooth to connect the controller to your PC if you have a connector for it using similar methods.
