To improve these children’s chances while preparing teachers from new sources, most Pathways programs have adopted a curriculum that reflects the best current thinking on effective teaching, building on participants’ strengths while addressing their unique needs. Building an Innovative Curriculum to Prepare New Teachers.

  • Curriculum alignment focuses on curriculum and instruction, and it must have funding. Instructors know what students need to be learning, and they want the time to collaboratively figure out how to better teach, how to better implement better teaching practices, how to align their curriculum content to best practices in instruction.
  • You could also pair up with a teacher that works with the same age group. Sharing themes, lesson plans, and curriculum materials can benefit both experienced and inexperienced teachers. Not only will it split the workload, but the less experienced teacher might be able to contribute new ideas to an existing curriculum.
  • Welcome New Ideas. An open-minded attitude can help you in innovating new teaching methods. Though you might claim to be open-minded, its human nature to resist change. Evaluate yourself and ensure you try out new ideas in the classroom. Think About A New Hobby. Sometimes, a hectic workload may affect your engagement in teaching.
